Hair 050

1. Create a side-parting to the right of your scalp and brush your hair into place. Brush your fringe/bangs to the side and clip them in place so that they are out of the way for the next step.
2. Brush your hair to the back of your head and hold it in place with one hand. Use to other hand to loosely pull any remainder of hair back. Don't worry about it looking impeccable; the beauty of this look is that it's stylish in a messy, grecian way. Tie your hair into a ponytail using a covered elastic (or hairband, whatever you want to call it) that's the same colour as your hair so that it can't be seen later on.
3. Twist your hair around the base of the ponytail and randomly push hair grips (you may call them bobby pins or kirby grips) into the bun to hold it in place. Use grips the same colour as your hair if you can, because they aren't so visible. You can see Taylor's stylist has done this if you look closely at the picture. Once the bun is secured, shake the bun a little bit to mess it up, and perhaps pull a few bits of hair out to make it look messy. If you accidentally pull out too much hair, just twist it around the bun and clip it in place again. It all adds to the messy look, so don't worry about taking a few risks.
4. Release the fringe/bangs you clipped away earlier and heat up a small curling iron. Brush the fringe/bangs and the wrap the hair around the barrel of the hair iron. You can use the clip for this style if it's easier for you; don't get too carried away with the 'using the barrel' philosophy that we tend to rely on for curls these days. In this instance, I found that the curls turned out more like Taylor's when using the clip.
