Hair 020

If your hair is naturally curly, make sure it is clean (you can try applying leave-in conditioning products) and jazz up your curls a bit with a spiral iron.

1. Clean, day old hair (hair washed the day before) works best for this as the style will be easier to set. If you have dry hair, use some condition products.

2. Apply styling mousse or gel - if you use gel, make sure it isn't the type that leaves sticky white splodges in the hair. Any kind of gel used should only be used very sparingly, or your hair will be dry and crispy (not good). Curl enhancing products are best.

3. Apply a little heat defence and heat up your curling iron. Any kind of spiral iron works, but go for a medium size if you want to be specific. Curling irons designed for younger girls with segments won't achieve this look. Release the clip (hold it back) and wrap the hair around the iron holding onto the ends with your fingers. Judge how long you need to hold the hair in place by the quality of your curling iron; a good quality, fully heated iron shouldn't need to be held for any longer then 5-10 seconds. Repeat this around your head, making the wrapping of the hair tighter at the back for the spiralling curls Taylor has. Apply hairspray (a good hairspray will hold your hair in place but wont leave it looking dull and crisped) and, if you like, shine spray.

4. Flick some curls from the front of your head to the right across your forehead. To loosen these curls into waves, clip the iron onto the root then run it along the curl, flicking at the end. (see picture)
