Hair 016

1. Make sure your hair is soft and clean. Day-old hair that is in good condition will work best. Use a smoothing spray or a spray-on leave-in conditioner if your hair needs a boost.
2. Heat up a small barrel curling iron and brush through your hair thoroughly whilst waiting. Create a parting to the far left of your head. If you have short bangs you will most likely have a problem at this point. If your hair will not flip into the same style as Taylor's, clip back the hair which is causing the problem with a bobby pin the same colour as your hair (this will be covered later on).
3. At this point you can either release the clip of the curling iron and wrap the hair (in 1inch sections) around it before holding in place (using heat gloves if you have any) and releasing, or you can clip the very ends of your hair into the iron and roll tightly upwards to the tips of your ears. As you gradually move backwards around your head, curling the hair further upwards.
4. Slip a thick black headband behind your ears and then move your hands behind it. Lift the top layer of hair, flip it forwards over the band and clip in place. Now, take the hair behind the headband in sections and start gently backcombing (lift the hair upwards before insert a brush or comb at the tips and brushing towards the scalp to creat volume) trying to style the hair into a dome.
5. Now release the hair you flipped over your head in step 4 and comb it before flipping it backwards to cover the dome. This will keep the dome looking glossy as the backcombed hair will most likely be mussed up.
6. Apply shinespray and good-quality hairspray. The better the quality, the better your hair will look after application - it will still feel natural rather than carboard-y. You're finished!
