Hair 004

1. Clean, day old hair holds this look best. Brush through your hair and run your fingers through it to see if it's greasy and/or knotted. If it's a little knotted, you can brush out the knots then decide whether your hair is clean enough. If it isn't, wash and blowdry with cool air using a paddle brush.
2. Plug in a medium sized curling iron. Brush though your hair until tangle free. Position a comb a third of the way back from your hair line and comb all the hair forwards over your face. This generally works best for people with layers around their faces. If your hair is as thick at the front as it is at the back, comb from a quarter of the way back from your hairline.
3. Gather all the hair that you didn't comb forward into a high ponytail at the back of your head and secure with a strong, well-holding hair band. You can tuck the hair you combed forward in step 2 behind your ears so it's out of the way. Take the curling irons and begin curling 2 inch sections, holding at the base of the ponytail for 15 seconds. Repeat this around the ponytail then spray with hairspray.
4. Take eight curls of the ponytail [four from each side] and clip them out of the way. Use your fingers to wind the rest of the hair round into a bun and clip in place with 5-10 tight, strong grips.
5. Take the four curls from one side and flip one of them over to the other side and secure, two across the bun and secure, and leave one hanging where it is. Then repeat from the other side.
6. Take the hair you combed forward at the start and comb it through. It needs to be at least reasonably straight so, if needed, heat up a straight iron and straighten the hair.
7. Use a comb to brush the hair straight up and then pull it downwards. Push the hair forward slightly to create a slight coiff, and then clip the hair in place. If you have bangs then pull them back also and clip them to the sides of your head or try to discreetly clip them in place under the coiff. Spray with hairspray and enjoy!
